HOOD PRINCIPLES
“SERVICE ABOVE SELF”
The following lists the basic concepts of HOOD. and are not in any particular order of importance.
1. The Hibernian Order Of Druids accepts its membership from the indigenous Druids living in Ireland & abroad.
2. The purpose of this order is to safeguard and promote the interest, practice and philosophy of Druidry.
3. We celebrate the festivals of the Sacred Wheel that form the Celtic year, recognising that all life is of a cyclical nature from birth to death, to life in its spirit form and onwards to re-incarnation.
4. We acknowledge that all life is sacred and accept that “life” has many forms of existence.
5. We honour the Celtic Goddesses and Gods.
6. Our motto is ‘Service above self.’
7. We accept that the path of the Druid has no set doctrine or dogma, other than the love and respect of all life.
8. HOOD is not an initiatory order. Individual groves accept that responsibility; however assistance & training may be given if required by the Owl Grove.
9. We acknowledge the importance of our connection with the Earth, our Ancestors, their sacred sites and the maintenance of the Earth Energy Lines (ley lines).
10. We respect other people’s religions as being valid for them.
